511: Koh’s Tancho Oranda Goldfish

A completely different folding technique was a nice change with this much tortured bit of paper:511TanchoOranda

An odd-shaped goldfish, famously all white except for a colourful growth on the head, this thin-waisted fantail was actually really hard work even at this scale.511TanchoOrandaPaper

The thicknesses of paper needed to be bent here to made the relatively tiny body made for a finger-punishing fold and, in the end, actually my least favourite fish to date.

I might try texturing the fins, they look so stiff and unnatural as is, not sure I like the head/neck connection either but it was interesting as a fold none the less – I can see the base this model uses as a very useful addition to many-limbed critters.511TanchoOrandaScale

Not sure how easy this wold be to fold small, and requires REALLY thin paper (my stock Kraft was too bulky).

Live, fold and learn.
