763: (213/365) There’s a Fly in my …

Looking for something to fold that was vaguely “insecty”, I stumbled across a lovely box-pleated fly mangled from a 2×1 rectangle:

Based on a 16×32 grid, we isolate head, legs, lovely plump abdomen and leave the back flap for a lovely set of wings.

I so love this technique – I can see a whole family of buzzies that could be folded using this technique.

I used some brown Washi for this fold, the scale was just about right in terms of thickness, model-ability and working with my fat clumsy fingers. Designed by Alfredo Guinta, this is “Fly2”, folded from a Tanteidan Convention book.
