907: (357/365) Mr Origami

Always on the look out for a model that somehow incorporates traditional cranes (Tsuru), I stumbled across this design and knew I had to try it:

A clever pre-folding sequence caches paper that later emerges as “bird-baseable” end points you can locate at the ends of arms.

The design has a malformed bird on each hand, but with a little tweakage (and some gentle paper smooshing deep in an internal seam) you can get nice long neck/tail. The forming of the little man is fairly simple and I like that the model free-stands.

This is entitled “Scarecrow” and “Edward Bird Hands”, and is designed by Alec Fehl.
