958: Ilja Trochanowski’s Kusadama

Cruising around on facebook, as you do, I saw a call to test a new Kusadama by Ilja Trochanowski:

I put my hand up and set about folding the 6-piece cube, an interesting intricate design based on an octagonal collapse with some fiddly treatment of the flaps to make curly floral facets.

The locking mechanism is nice and positive when you manage to engage it, the sequence relies on accurate folding but is not complicated (thanks to a comprehensive set of photo diagrams).

I like this cube – it is a little bit fancy, enhanced by the paper choice.

Thanks to Ilja for the opportunity to fold this, it was fun (and perfect procrastination activity for such a grey and otherwise dreary day).
