Charlie Girl" (he wants no part of the win, thinking it will
ruin his chances of winning over Charlie) |

Charlie,
after an accidental meeting with a rich American Bachelor (Jack Connor)
imagines she has found true love with him .... |

Jack
Connor, on the other hand is merely a womaniser. His manipulative
mother Mrs Kay Connor wants him to marrly a lady with an English title
to make her son respectable... |

So
plots a scheme with Lady Hadwell to hitch Jack with Charlie |

Meanwhile,
Joe and Wainwright organise to hire Charlie a stunning outfit for

Jack
is introduced to Charlie, and love is in the air but thethe 'earth
does not move' when they kiss. Charlie is confused, Jack momentarily
believes he is 'losing his touch', later to be consoled by Lady Penelope. |

Meanwhile,
a group of suspicious characters plot to rob Hadwell Hall, but are
apprehended in the confusion of the fireworks at the end of the party. |

Jack's
personal Japanese Valet and Lady Hadwell seem to get on well |

Joe
remembers Harry's Fish and Chip Shop and his fond memories of a working
class upbringing |
