Just curious to see what are people's favourite items are. Keep in mind these are favourites, not bests Smile

Weapons:
Scythes, eagle talons, bush saws, sweep tillers, kayak paddles, copper sticks, pop rivet guns.

Armor:
Body: patient's smock
Arm: dragon sleeve armature
Leg: rotting dt's
Neck: love beads
Hands:heavy leather climbing gloves
Head: turtle shell helmet
Feet: fibreglass gumboots
Face: black woolen balaclava
Rings: golden rings of the undead
Holding: pet rock
Shield: corroded aluminum manhole cover

I just think they have cool names.

Prolly not my place to post in this thread, but ...

The first non "standard issue weapon" object I made for tMUX, after the TOMES was a simple tennis ball. It remains a personal favourite with me (even though it and must admit a lovely sense of mischief surrounding it).

A rare treat: it's object definition...

Index: 911
Name: tennis ball
Desc: You see a regular tennis ball, worn but still serviceable.
Use:
Keys: tennis ball
Hit: 0d0 + 0
Shots: 0/0
Wear: Held Type: 13
AC: 00 Value: 00010 Weight: 01 Magic: 00
Flags set: None.

That it has the index number of "911" is an interesting coincidence. I started making objects in the 900 range "above" standard download objects" and then began re-claiming object indexes lower as the original object catalogue increased.

There are some cute things out there, some I am very pleased with how they turned out, but who could not love a tennis ball - the first thing most noobs pick up and still (I hope) on the list of "must find out what this is for" objects in a seasoned players inventory.

Continuing on with favorites, name your favorite class and tell why! It can be as simple as easiest to play or best titles!

My favorite would definitely be bard. No weapon or armor restrictions, can heal well in a short amount of time, decent with both weapons and magic, fun to group with! So much fun to play, though i just cant be bothered leveling another one Sad

Name yours!

The Monk is definitely my favorite:

with great effort, comes unfathomable reward.

a level 25 monk with 21 str will have a massive damage range of 24-31 with his bare hand.

by this time his AC would be almost -4 ish

if his constitution is good, he can meditate for the high 20's, even in battle if your smart about it.

and then, the touch of death... along with charm... they are the two most fascinating (to me) abilities available in the current tmux code base.

this unstoppable force also has an awesome title:

level 16-18: Master, level 19-21: Grand Master

there is none other like this power imo... well, until the next post

I am curious, given the fact that no one has ever raised a monk to this level, in this game, where do these quoted damage stats come from?

Monks can hit for 3 damage above their level (I'm pretty sure its 3, could be 2), plus their strength bonus. So a level one monk with 17+ strength (+2 bonus) hits 1-4 with the 3 damager per level, and an extra 2 because of the strength bonus. So far I've seen this trend every level. And with the northside bonus, you get an extra 1 damage. Thats how Gecko hits for like 21 damage at level 14, he has over 21 strength I'm pretty sure, and the mob bonus. Although I'm pretty sure there comes a level at which your minimum damage stops being your level, somewhere in the teens (tinpan has already passed it i think). And AC goes down 0.7 per level (might be 0.6), and higher con will of course lead to better meditation.

Um... go bards...

OK, what i meant was the minimum damage goes down. Tinpan's range is like 13 or 14-20 at level 15. And yes, Gecko does hit better.

This is suppose to be a favorites thread!
