Before we meet for our first lesson on building web pages with Dreamweaver you may want to brush up on your knowledge of HTML. If you are not familiar with HTML (or you don't know what it means) don't worry. You will still be able to take the classes. However, you will need to undertake some preliminary study.
We don't have a lot of time together so it will be helpful if you know some of the basics before we start. Even if you are familiar with HTML you should quickly look through this information to try and uncover any holes in your knowledge. So please attempt the following exercises before we begin our first class.
Study these tags so that you can recognise most of them. We won't be writing in raw HTML but you will need to know what the common tags mean. Don't worry too much about the "frames" and "forms" (the last three) sections.
As you go through these exercises note down anything you have a problem understanding. We will discuss these in our first class. Those of you who are familiar with HTML might like to write down some questions as well.
If any of this is unclear or you want to ask me something before we begin or even if you have some suggestions as to what we should cover in our classes then feel free to contact me by eMail on R.Jong@mailbox.gu.edu.au or by telephone on 3382 1308.
