MUD
(Multi-User Dungeon)

A MUD lets players travel to exotically described places, meet interestingly described creatures and kill them. It is a multi-player, multi-session game that occurs in real time. MUDs are ancestors of ALL RPGs and terraMUDX is a live example of a MUD.

Concepts invented for Dungeons and Dragons morphed into MUD and then to lots of forms of graphical computer games.

Below are some composite screen shots from the terraMUDII database editor:

A Room A Creature

MUDs are live-to-net multi-user, multi-threaded databases comprising 4 basic object types.

ROOMS are places you go

PLAYERS are things that you play the game through

CREATURES are things you talk to and kill for points

OBJECTS are things you collect and use

What you see here are screen grabs from the database editor for all but players

Use this information to model a MUD in sentences, then use VisioModeller to construct an ORM diagram that correctly describes this universe
