ABSTRACT

This session will demonstrate a range of software and hardware for playing and creating music on an IBM compatible PC. This will include the examination of a range of musical notation and sequencing software, a selection of sound cards and the connection of MIDI devices to a PC. The session will take the perspective of a school computer coordinator (with limited musical knowledge) who has to advise a school's music teacher on the possible use of the PC for teaching aspects of music.
