Mobile

Now as a proof of concept, this posting has been generated entirely on my iPhone. I do not intend to take this device with us but rather have an iPad2 we bought at Christmas for our travel media manager.
Using an iDevice is a bit of a mode changer as there are some things they do really well and some things less so necessitating a rethink

One of the selection criteria for our accommodation placed was free wifi – no real idea what that means but we are destined to discover as we want to use it to satiate our telecommunication needs. It is all a bit of an experiment but should be interesting none the less.

Paris?

Now I am not sure how most people approach itinerary planning but we took an approach that might be different to some. We became aware of a website that outlined best pastries and patisseries in and around Paris: http://www.parispatisseries.com/

delicious no-calorie snacksWe decided that there were some seriously delicious things we should try, and noticed that the most favoured patisseries were scattered strategically around Paris and so hatched a plan … starting at a Patisserie for breakfast, make a pilgrimage to another and inbetween see those pesky “must sees” like The Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, Centre Pompidou  and so on.

Jo and I both love food – interestingly, when we travel that is often the first thing we research … what is good to eat. Paris offers a plethora of gastronomic opportunities – fortunately we are walking everywhere else we will end up the size of a house but we are determined to get a “taste” of Paris as best we can. What could possibly go wrong with that sort of logic?

…it begins

Travel broadens the mind.”

Certainly everyone says this but what does this mean? For us (she who must be obeyed and myself), travel is opportunity to explore place, cuisine, architecture, art, culture and custom.

Some of our food plans will certainly “broaden the waistline” but more on that later.

Our latest holiday, a 6 week exploration of London, Paris, the UK generally with Singapore as a detox/body clock re-wire promises to be a lot of fun and is 32 days away!!!

We leave Easter Sunday, our itinerary is well developed and we are very excited already – wading through the remainder of term 1 is hard given the prize that is tangibly close now.
